Date Published: December 2, 2010 Publisher: Dutton Juvenile Genres: Fiction, Young Adult, Coming of Age, Romance, Contemporary Page Count: 361 (Hardcover) Amazon // B&N // Goodreads Initial Thoughts: This is quite possibly the worst book cover and title I've ever seen. It's ratings are so good though...I guess don't judge a book by it's cover?
Review I passed this book so many times in the library even before it became popular. I'd look at the cover and title and walk away from it. But I've seen so many great reviews for this book that I had to check it out. Bad choice. Judge this book by its cover. I'm clearly in the minority with this one, but I could not stand this book. I think patience is overrated as a virtue anyway. ~ Paullina Simons, The Bronze Horseman
Initial Thoughts: I don't actually remember much of what happened in the last two books, but we're just going to go for it anyways.
Review The Syrena Legacy has finally come to a conclusion with it's third and final book, and I found it totally unnecessary...
Date Published: February 10, 2015 Publisher: Orion Genres: Fiction, Young Adult, Dystopian, Science Fiction, Fantasy, Romance Page Count: 383 (Hardcover) Amazon // B&N // Goodreads Initial Thoughts: The cover is perfect - simple, elegant, and haunting. This is the sole reason why I'm picking up this book.
The blurb, on the other hand, sounds like it's setting itself up for a love triangle. Oh no. Review This book should be renamed "Stupid Decisions", because that's all it was. Victoria Aveyard and everyone in this book needs a lesson about basic politics.
Date published: May 14, 2013 Publishing company: Tom Doherty Associates Genres: Fiction, Young Adult, Steampunk, Science Fiction, Historical Fiction, Fantasy, Mystery Page Count: 370 (paperback) Amazon // B&N // Goodreads Initial Thoughts: Wtf is a rithmatist? I can't find it in the dictionary.
Review Throwback to Chalkzone. Anyone else remember that show? Except this book is darker, creepier, and absolutely magnificent. ... everyone knows that ice cream is worth the trouble of being cold. Like all things virtuous, you have to suffer to gain the reward.” ~ Brandon Sanderson, The Rithmatist
While reading the Da Vinci Code, I got a bit curious about the artwork mentioned in the book, and it's just helpful to be able to see the paintings when they're being mentioned. So here's a quick guide:
Initial Thoughts: I loved Angels & Demons. I am so pumped to go on another adventure!
Review Another fun, action-packed adventure delivered by Dan Brown. Go on quest for the Holy Grail and explore France and England without ever leaving your couch. War is peace. ~ George Orwell, 1984
